Education Vice Minister Pledges to Education Quality

The new Education Vice Minister, Chris Nangoi, is a testimony to the Flexible Open Distance Education or FODE, a pathway that enables youths pushed out by the formal system to succeed in life.

His recent ministerial appointment has given him the enthusiasm to work with the education department in improving the quality of education.

Nangoi shared his testimony during his welcoming ceremony as new Education Vice Minister.

Christ Nangoi is a first time MP, representing the people of Sumkar District in Madang Province.

His hunger for education led him to become one professional engineer and later as a businessman.

It was through the FODE system, after being pushed out by the formal system in Grade 10.

Nangoi said his weakness gave him the strength and motivated him to help bridge the gaps in education quality.

His official engagement as Vice Minister will be on two agencies under the Education ministry; the National Libraries and Archives including UNESCO.

Line agencies like the Teaching Service Commission today also presented their reports and five-year plans to the Minister and his Vice where they outlined reforms of strategic change.

They have pledged to work together for the better quality of education.
