The North Queensland Cowboys sent out a warning signal to the rest of the NRL that they are grand final contenders, when they thrashed the Parramatta Eels 46-4 last night.
It didn’t take long for the Cowboys to register points on the scoreboard, thanks to a slick play which saw Antonio Winterstein over for the first try of the match.
And later, in the 15th minute, Jason Taumalolo barged over for the Cowboys to extend their lead to 10-0.
But the Eels hit back soon after, crossing for a try in the corner.
In the second half it was all one way traffic, with the Cowboys scoring at will.
The onslaught from the Cowboys continued when they scored five tries in 20 minutes to see the match come to an end with the North Queenslanders prevailing 46-4.
The Cowboys are now in second position on the NRL point’s ladder, just behind the Brisbane Broncos, with the Sydney Roosters now in third.
