Cowboys Claim Victory

by Dion Kombeng – EM TV Sports, Port Moresby

The Parramatta Eels gave away a 24-point buffer to see the North Queensland Cowboys come from behind, to claim victory 36 points to 30.

The Cowboys scored three tries on the space of six minutes in the second half, to shock the Eels as they walked away with the win.

The boys from up north came into the match as hot favourites, but were tested as the Parramatta Eels got off to a brilliant start with Corey Norman crossing for a try.

The eels inched ahead with a penalty and grabbed an eight – nil lead. And soon after centre Brad Taikarangi scored a try in the corner.

But cowboys star Michael Morgan put the north Queenslanders on the scoreboard with a try.

The Eels then showed their strength when Manu Ma’u crashed over to see Parramatta extend their lead even further.

Semi Radradra got in the action and scored one for himself, extending the cowboys lead 24 points to 6 in the thirty ninth minute.

The second half saw the Eels open the scoring with Radradra grabbing his second.

The cowboys then began their fight back, and grabbed three tries consecutively in the space of six minutes to level the scores.

Kane Linnett scored after a break and saw the cowboys take the lead and seal the game 36 points to 30.
