All councillors of respective wards and villages throughout the country will be put on the payroll system commencing this year.
Prime Minister James Marape said, this is to ensure issues and needs of the community members are attended.
He revealed this during his visit to Nomad, in the Middle Fly District of Western Province last week.
Mr Marape said all councillors would be receiving fortnightly allowances between K300 to K400.
He also called on the councillors around the country to conduct head counts of families in the villages starting this month, which will help the National Government to deliver development plans accordingly with correct information received on hand.
Prime Minister Marape further added that all provincial governors including district administrators must take ownership of census in their respective provinces and local level governments. This is in line with the key policy of the country for effective delivery of services.
