The 2015 Commonwealth Youth Olympic Games will be held in Samoa in 23 days time.
This will be the fifth Commonwealth Youth Games, since its inception in the year 2000.
All events will be held in the Samoan capital of Apia.
Up to 1000 young athletes aged 14 to 18 will represent their countries and compete for 107 Gold medals in 9 sports over 5 days from the 5th to the 11th September.
The opening and the closing ceremonies will be held in Apia Park, which will also host the athletics, rugby and tennis competitions.
The games will take place in two of Apia’s sporting complexes that will host Aquatic (Swimming), Archery, Athletics, Boxing, Lawn Bowls, Rugby Sevens, Squash, Tennis and Weightlifting events.
Like the Commonwealth Games, all athletes will stay in the athletes village and events will need to comply with relevant sporting federation’s technical rules and regulations, with the World Anti-doping Standards also applying both on and off the field of play.
