More than ten men approached a family and ther relatives who were gthering at a funeral service. They destroyedthe houses and setthe casket on fire.
The owner ofthe home, Morris Sikoni wants tougher actions to be taken onthe culprits.
It’s not clear what happened that led tothe incident but what is known is that families ofthe deceased were ontheir way tothe haus krai prevented to what had become a crime committed againstthe women and chasedthe attackers away.
It is also understood that relatives of those women after being alerted retaliated and attackedthe family atthe haus krai.
Everyone fled whilethe mob axedthe walls ofthe family house. The relatives ofthe deceased continued on withthe burial on Sunday withthe partly burnt casket despitethe incident.
They saythe incident wasthe first of its kind to have happened.
The relatives ofthe deceased refused to retaliate afterthe incident on Saturday but broughtthe matter tothe attention of Morobe Governor Kelly Naru andthe Lae Police for futher investigation.
