Central Governor Calls For Assistance

Central Province Governor, Kila Haoda has called on the National Government to assist after the flooding of villages in the Central Province.

The Governor said his district administrators are working around the clock to compile a full report of the affected areas, and will out assistance starting tomorrow.

Provincial Disaster Coordinator Tumai Ipou blames the sudden bad weather on climate change. He said this has not been experienced by Central Province for years.

Moreover Ipou said the Central Disaster Office is also working on a report to assess the costings of damages caused by the flooding in areas along the Magi and Hiritano Highway. They will present the report to the Central Governor by the end of this week.

Meanwhile Governor Haoda urged all his people of Central Province to remain calm and wait for assistance.
