Last year’s Capital Rugby Union runners up University Piggies got off to a disappointing start tothe season.
They were beaten inthe Under 19, A-grade and Premiere Division by brthers.
The capital rugby union commenced its 2013 season proper matches inthe under 19, A grade and Premiere divisions.
Notable wasthe women’s competition that’s on a two week bye afterthe pre-season 7s competition atthe Beva Park.
Betherssounded an unusually early warning to Uni Piggies in all three divisions.
First inthe Under 19 brther defeated Piggies 10/7 whilethe A Grade divisionthe Piggies retaliated beating Bethers19 points to nil.
And inthe Premiere division Bethersgot away with 24 points to 21 win overthe piggies.
Harlequins also got off to a good start beating defence inthe under 19 division 22 points to 5; and inthe A grade division harlies escaped with a narrow win 10 7; andthe Premiere team capped off a weekend of victory over Defence 17 points to 7.
These weekend’s matches are sure to turnthe heat up withthe women’s till on a bye.
