Call for More Business Trainers in Manus

By Jack Lapauve Jr – EM TV, Port Moresby

Manus Provincial Administrator, Andrew Posong, said a trainer’s train workshop must be conducted to extend business opportunity to other people on the island.

Mr Posong made this statement following the closure of a business workshop held in Manus. He said if this workshop is extended, more Manusian’s can start small businesses and improve the economy of the province.

Only a handful of participants, out of the 150, were from nearby islands. Posong said training more trainers will extend the business concept to people in the outer islands of the province. Most participants want the training to continue to the next phase.

Kule’en Hamou, former Manus Provincial Administrator, said the training must go into its second and third phase.

“We call on the Manus and Australian Governments to continue the workshop so we become professional in doing business”, he said.

The Australian Government is imminent to conduct more business workshops and give equal opportunities for Manusian’s in growing the economy of the province.
