The Papua New Guinea Immigration and Citizenship Authority (ICA) appointed their new members of the Citizenship Advisory Committee (CAC) today at the Government House, Konedobu Port Moresby.
The swearing in ceremony of the newly appointed members of the Citizenship Advisory Committee of ICA, attending was the Deputy Prime Minister and the new members of CAC present at the signing of the Chairman & Deputy Chairman before the Governor General Sir Bob Dadae. The appointed Chairman of CAC is Honourable Marsh Narewec member of Wau-Waria open and Deputy Chairman, Honourable Alexander Suguman Orme, member for Sumkar Open.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, Honourable John Rosso, the ceremony holds much importance. Given the years of delay due to technical issues, the Citizenship Advisory Committee now has an appointed Chairman & Deputy Chairman.
He added that, the CAC will look into providing citizenships for those who applied for and deliberate. Roughly 600 applications are pending. The main role of the CAC is to grant entry of who can enter the country.
