Bulolo Technical School Graduation

By Berthanie Harriman – EM TV News, Lae

605 students graduated from the Bulolo Technical School today.

The students have graduated with technical skills in mechanics, tourism, welding and carpentry.

Bulolo MP, Sam Basil, spoke at the graduation and said he wants the graduates to use the knowledge to develop their communities.

“The district administration is not spending money on expensive education overseas, we are spending money on education that will build communities and this is how the country will grow,” said Basil.

The school received funding of K1.8 million in 2012 from National Planning when Basil was the Minister.

The funding has gone towards the construction of eight houses, two dormitories and toilet and shower rooms for the students.

Bulolo Technical School also offers courses in business and information technology.

The Bulolo District Administration aims to develop the technical school into an institute similar to that of Lae’s National Polytechnic Institute.
