BeP’s Chief Executive Officer Ian Clyne will leave after servingthe bank for almost five years.
Under his lLeadersipthe bank has transformed to a modern banking institution.
Mr Clyne joined Bank South Pacific in October of 2008 with a wide experience inthe banking sector.
He has been instrumental behind BeP’s rebranding and transformation, growingthe banks customer base from four hundred thousand to a million.
He said he is so passionate about BeP and will always have a special place forPNG in his heart.
He is optimistic that banking services in PNG will reach new levels withthe advancement in telecommunications,the recent one, announcement ofthe partnership between Vodafone and BeMobile.
However, Mr Clyne warned against governance issues saying this wasthe factor behind a bank’s growth or fall.
He has developed BeP into a unique banking institution inthe Pacific and BeP today hasthe largest number of branches nationwide, more than 275 ATM machines, more than ten thousand eftpos and 200 agents.
Mr Clyne will return and reunite with his family in Australia inthe next few weeks’ time.
