With technology readily available to people of all ages, and from all parts of the world, anything is now possible.
Well, here’s one inspiring story of a little 13 year old, who is recorded as the world’s youngest music producer by the Guinness World Records.
Born to parents Nancy and Terrance Johnson, Brandon Bailey Johnson is a 13-year-old American songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer and arranger.
Brandon’s journey began at the age of seven. He says “When I was seven years old, I heard a band called Linkin Park, and they were super awesome. I always wanted to play their songs.”
With his love for music, Brandon started with bass and guitar at the St Mark’s United Methodist Church. For two years, Brandon played bass and guitar with the praise and worship band at the church.
At the age of nine, he composed his first song while learning violin.
In 2014, Brandon entered the El Paso Song Writing Competition and was placed fourth in the competition. He was then accepted into the El Paso Opera Young Stars Program in October last year.
According to Brandon’s mother Nancy, when describing his son said “He has always loved music. We always toys instruments around the house. We had an old Casio keyboard and he would bang on it all day”.
In February, he released his first album called “My Journey” and recieved his Guinness World Record certificate as the world’s youngest music producer in August.
When asked how he felt about the record, Brandon said “I really don’t know how to describe how I feel, I really cant. It’s a privilege and an honour to be in the Guinness Book of Records that is certain.”
According to Brandon’s vocal coach over the summer, Tony Ramirez, “Brandon Bailey Johnson has the looks, the charisma, and the drive to be successful in the music industry. Most importantly, he has the talent, he has the spirit.”
