The people of Bougainville have been commended for ensuring a peaceful election for the Third House of Representatives.

United States Ambassador to PNG, Walter North, on behalf of the government, and people of the United States of America, were full of praise for how the Autonomous Bougainville Government elections were successfully conducted.

“We’re exceptionally happy about the process – it went very well”, said Ambassador North.

“The people of Bougainville have made it very clear that they want a peaceful democratic process that reflects their will as they go forward”, he added.

The ambassadors comments follow the successful completion of the ABG elections, which saw Chief Dr John Momis retain his seat as President of the Autonomous Region of Bougainville for another term.
