Teen Pop Sensation Justin Bieber has been arrested overnight for drag racing under the influence of alcohol in Miami, TMZ has reported.
According to CNN, the 19 year old was charged with drunken driving, resisting arrest and driving without a valid license after police saw the pop star street racing early Thursday morning.
Miami Police reports have also confirmed that Bieber was returning from a Miami strip club when he was caught breaking the law.
Bieber was booked into a Miami Jail after a failed sobriety test.
Miami Beach Police Chief, Raymond Martinez, reported that Bieber made some statement saying “he had consumed alcohol, was smoking marijuana and had also consumed some prescription medication.”
A Miami beach Officer had seen the Canadian singer driving a yellow Lamborghini in a race against a Red Ferari in a residential area in Miami Beach. The cars were said to be speeding at about 55-60 mph in a 30mph zone.
Bieber was pulled over by the officer but our star was not co-operating with the police officer’s instructions.
CNN has also learned that Bieber has been receiving escorts from unauthorized policemen sometime during this week. The matter is still under investigation.
He was released after an hour after making a brief appearance through a video link before a Miami Judge who set a standard $2500 bond on Thursday afternoon.
