Balimo district in the Western Province, can now watch EMTV.
The district is the first of a total of eight areas in the province, that will be receiving the EMTV signal this year, giving the people access to vital information and current issues.
The rolling out of EMTV transmitters throughout the Western Province, is the result of an agreement signed between the Western Provincial government, and Media Niugini Limited.
The EMTV broadcast signal to Balimo was activated on the 13 of this month.
Since then, Balimo has been the only district of Western Province, that has been able to receive EMTV broadcast.
The broadcasting of EMTV into the province, is the result of a continued partnership between Media Niugini Limited, and the Western Provincial government.
Western Provincial Governor, Ati Wobiro, upon signing the agreement with Media Niugini Limited, said that people in Western Province, needed to be kept abreast of all that was happening in the province, and the country.
EMTV’s engineering and rigging team has, for the past month, been on the ground in Balimo, to set up all broadcast equipment.
While Balimo has been activated, still awaiting connection are Awaba, Kiunga, Ningerum, Lake Murray, Nomad, Morehead and Suki.
EMTV’s engineering team have landed setup kits at the wharf in Kiunga, but are now awaiting the Western provincial government to transport the equipment to the remaining areas for installation.
