Another hand over take over for the FRPI Regiment

A new commanding officer for the First Royal Island Regiment was appointed last Friday.

Since the failed muting in January this year, PNGDF's First Royal Pacific Island Regiment at Taurama Barracks has seen continuous changes to it's top post.

On Friday, the unit witnessed yet another handover takeover parade for the new commanding officer.

The army believe it's a positive move and will not affect preparations for elections operations.

Lieutenant Colonel Fred Aile took over from Lieutenant Colonel Francis Kari following the military takeover in January.

He is now replaced by lieutenant Colonel Benny Allen, 43 years of age from Pangia in the Southern Highlands Province.

The unit is most likely to send a strong 150 for election operations; this figure is yet to be confirmed.
