Anglimp-South Waghi Electorate MP, Ruman Joe Kuli and Jiwaka Governor, Dr William Tongap on Friday launched a K5.4 Million power project.
The project is launched under the rural electrification project of the National Government.
It is funded through the District Services Improvement Program Fund or DSIP.
The people of Anglimp district in Jiwaka Province celebrated the launching of the first ever rural electrification project in their area.
Just a year in office and Anglimp South Waghi MP has delivered projects he has promised during his campaign in 2017 National elections.
Kuli says the onus is for the contractors to deliver the service to his people.
Various rural communities will benefit from this project.
These are Lufa to Tari market, Kindeng Junction to Rolgomb, Anglimp Junction to Kunhi, 3 Kona to Kuna Kaip, Wara Wau and Waghi, and Kami Highway.
A total of 20 000 population will benefit from this power project.
Jiwaka Governor also pledged his support and presented a K2 Million cheque for the power project.
MPs in Jiwaka are working along with their Governor to deliver service to their people.
Another joint project of Dr Tongamp and Kuli is the diverting of Waghi River to build a bridge for the people of Manda in Jiwaka.
The power project will start in January next year.
The Jiwaka leaders urged their people not to wait for free handouts and must work hard to live.
