Activist bashed up for going against 30-Month Grace Period

A human rights activist was assaulted early yesterday morning meters away fromthe parliament house.

Eyewithnesses allege thatthe activist was assaulted by government’security officers for pinning up posters againstthe thirty months grace period.

A member from Melanesian Solidarity NGO Tony Fofoe said such acts will not stop him or ther human rights activists from expressingtheir views onthe social, economic and political issues affectingthe country.

Chief of Operations Andy Bewa said he was not aware of this incident.

However, eyewithnesses said police instigatedthe incident.
