Acting Police Commissioner on RPNGC

Acting Police Commissioner and Chief of Police Operations, Simon Kauba, said 2014 will bethe implementation year for the Royal Papua New GuineaConstabulary.

More modernization programs will be launched in ther provinces also.

 

He said this today atthe RoyaPNG Constabulary (RPNGC) Headquarters, when giving his New Year’s message for safe celebrations tonight.

 

Mr. Kauba, said this year was a challenging year for the RPNGC.

 

He saidthey have initiated a lot of work, andthe Modernization Program which was launched in April this year was one ofthem.

 

The launching has been labeled a historic moment inthe existence ofthe RPNGC, one that is set to refreshthe force and to regainthe trust and confidence ofthe people.

 

Mr Kauba also said thatthe agreement betweePNG andthe Australian government of having joint policing partners, is beneficial tothe constabulary.

 

The Australian Federal Police are working alongside our local police in mentoring and providing supervisorial roles, and not policing.

 

And withthe New Year just hours away, he advised everyone to have a safe New Year&#39’s celebration at home.

 

People will be arrested ifthey are caught drinking in public places tonight.
