Abel’s Concern: Robbery Increase inAlotau

Member for Alotau Open electorate and the Minister for National Planning and Monitoring, Charles Abel is concerned with the increase in criminal activities in the province.

The member met with the Provincial Law and Order Committee last week and even the Police Minister for outside intervention. He said robbery crime in the province is being conducted through the use of mobile phones, making it hard for police to catch them.

Mr Abel has appealed to the Alotau community to assist the police, as he believes it is the only way to break the network. He is concerned it will destroy the province's branding as the most peaceful town in the country.
