Abel on 2013 Budget for priority projects

The government’stands firm to implement priority projects inthe 2013 Budget.

 

Minister for National Planning Charles Abel outlined this on FM100’s Talk Back Show in Port Moresby on Thursday.

He made government’s position clear onthe 2013 Budget relating to its priority projects.

 

Mr Abel said funding is not an issue but rtherthe models of implementing service delivery which Planning has identiflied.

 

The National Planning Minister has finalisedtheIndependent Health Procurement Authority Submission to cabinet that will see a more effective procurement of drugs and medical supplies.

 

Another body which planning has created istheInfrastructure Development Authority. This body will deal with projects abover 50 million kina to relievethe Central Tenders and Supply Beard.

 

Mr Abel also spoke aboutthe Beundary Commission where currentlythere are twenty six boundaries inthe country. Planning has formulated a system according to landmass or sea and mass population to see equal distribution of funds.

 

The Minister has urged all line Departments and agencies to be accountable for all project funding.
