Rugby League World Cup CEO Commends PNG NRL

Rugby League World Cup Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Hill, has commended PNG NRL on the work done in the development of the sport in the country.

Hill said a new Pacific Athletes Program was recently started by the National Rugby League and will see the program being rolled out in the Country.

About forty staff are currently working with the PNG NRL, and of that Hill was also pleased with the number of women working in the organisation.

The Rugby League World Cup CEO arrived with three other officials from the Rugby League World Cup committee with the Australian PM’s 13 team for meetings with the PNGRFL, and to watch the 12th annual Prime Ministers XIII match.

In 2017, PNG will host two European countries, and USA, in Port Moresby for the Rugby League World Cup Pool Matches.

He said after the Prime Minister’s XIII match, this would be the start of the Rugby League World Cup campaign for both countries.
