Prime Minister on September 11 Anniversary

Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill, has asked Papua New Guineans to remember the hundreds of lives that were lost during the terrorist attacks of the Twin Towers in the United States of America on September 11 in 2001.

In a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office, O’Neill said terrorism attacks are an unfortunate reality and has been for the history of modern world.

“Today, people around the world mourn the deaths of 3,000 people on September 11 in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania in 2001, O’Neill said.

He further stated in the media release that this day, (today) is not for politics, but for reflection on those who were lost on September 11 in 2001 and the thousands who have also died in other terror attacks.

“May we as a community in our nation, pray for the families that have lost loved-ones to terrorism, and may the acts of terror be reduced in our time,” the Prime Minister said.
