Milne Bay To Host 52nd Medical Symposium

Milne Bay Province will host the 52nd Medical Symposium.

The annual event will be held at Cameron Hall from September 4-9 will attract many experts especially in the health sector.

The 52nd Medical Symposium will be held under the theme ‘The Global burden of disease; particularly as it applies to Papua New Guinea’.

According to the organising committee the event will begin with specialist meetings that will gather experts such as paediatricians and obstetricians. Their meeting is from August 31 to September 1

The plenary session of the Medical Society of PNG is from September 4-7.

The Milne Bay Provincial Health Authority will be the co-host of this very important gathering under the Chairman of the Organising Committee, Dr. Westin Seta.

President of the Medical Society of Papua New Guinea, Professor Nakapi Tefuarani, in an email said that at the end of the symposium, resolutions will be passed to the National Health Department, the National Health Minister and the National Executive Council with the government of the day.

Meanwhile, there is already excitement with the display of banners around Alotau Town and fundraising efforts by the committee on the ground.

The patron of the Annual Medical Symposium is Milne Bay Governor, Titus Philemon.
