Following their recent success over Kenya, the PNG Hebou Barramundis are now back on the pitch again, training for three upcoming matches in Australia in August and September.
The Barramundis will be playing three one day matches against Western Australia, Tasmania and Queensland in the South Australia Cricket Premier League.
In preparation for these matches, the Barramundis have played the first of two practice matches.
High Performance Manger, Rarua Dikana, says they will be going up against some of Australia’s best cricketers and are focused on making the tour a success.
In the absence of head coach Dipak Patel in the last few weeks the Barramundis, with the help of a coaching team, have focused on their batting and bowling drills.
The team is now in shape and looking forward to their next practice match.
A week after returning from Australia, the team will host Namibia in a one day international.
This will be the second time for the Barramundis to play host this year, and they look forward to make this no different from their meet with Kenya, where they came out on top.
