Toea Wisil went to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio with the hopes of upstaging some of the world’s fastest women.
In one of the most highly anticipated events of the Olympics, Toea Wisil competed in the women’s 100m sprint.
Lining up in lane number 8, Wisil was up against one of the world’s fastest female runners, Elaine Thompson from Jamaica.
Wisil finished the race in fourth place, with Jamaican Elain Thompson finishing the race with a time of 11.21 sec and Brazilian Rosangela Santos who clocked in at 11.18 seconds.
Her 4th place finish means that Wisil does not proceed to the finals of the women’s 100m sprint event.
However, still to compete in athletics is Papua New Guinean Theo Piniau who will compete in the 200m and 400m events.
