Fairfax Volleyball Ready for National Championships

Fairfax Volleyball Association in Port Moresby is only a month away to this year’s Volleyball National Championships.

So far, eight men’s and women’s teams are currently in training every weekend.

Association President, Kila Dick, in an interview, said this year’s nationals are set and is going to be one of the biggest events, come September.

Two months ago Fairfax Volleyball Association selected eight teams, for both under 21 and open, in the men’s and women’s divisions.

President Kila Dick said, after months of trials and selection matches, top players were identified. The selected players say they are ready.

From the Associations fundraiser, the team was able to secure K30,000 from NCD Governor, Powes Parkop. The money will be used to purchase uniforms for the players.

He added that the interest of the code exists, but if more events and national competitions are held around the country, the code is capable of being recognised as a national sport as well.
