Changes Made to Hunters Squad Ahead of Game Against Magpies

The PNG Hunters will face the Souths Logan Magpies this weekend in Brisbane.

A few changes have been made to this weekend’s team which will see Paul Wawa make his debut for the Hunters on the wing.

Wawa will become Hunter number 51 to don the jersey when he makes his debut this weekend.

Full-back, Bland Abavu has been suspended by the Queensland Rugby League for one game after being cited for tripping in last weekend’s match.

Stargroth Amean has been put in to start in the Fullback position replacing Abavu. David Loko was charged for a dangerous throw last weekend but has been cleared after taking a early guilty plea and will see him start in the position.

Versatile forward, Lawrence Tu’u will see him get a start in the backrow alongside Loko. Watson Boas, Junior Rop and Radley Brawa have been named on the extended 20 man side.

Minor injuries keep hindering a few players to be named in the team, but Marum says it is good to treat the injuries and try out the different player combinations early in the season. The 18-man travelling team will be confirmed on Friday.

The team leaves on Saturday for the 2pm clash on Sunday against South Logan Magpies at Browne Park.
