Former Police Commissioner Geoffrey Vaki will stand trial at the National Court in Port Moresby on August 19.
Vaki appeared before Justice David Cannings this morning with his new lawyer, Paul Othas.
The trial was listed for hearing last Friday but was adjourned to this week after Vaki submitted for a change of lawyer.
This case is in relation to the issuing of the warrant of arrest on Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill, in 2014.
Vaki told the court he was having difficulties with his former lawyer when he appeared for himself last Friday.
On this ground, the matter was put forward to this week.
This morning the case was listed for a Part Hear Trial but the matter could not proceed because Othas was just starting with the case.
The case adjourned for three weeks to give Othas enough time to prepare submissions.
Vaki is facing a charge of Abuse of Office.
Come August 19, Vaki’s lawyer and the lawyer representing the state will be making submissions on the verdict.
