Into its third year of running, the Royal Port Moresby Golf Club Junior Clinics have since successfully produced talented golfers.
The dedication of these youngsters has been paying off, as the club in collaboration with PNG Golf Association has sent off a number of junior reps over the years to participate in international tournaments.
For this year, youngsters Vagi James and Nathalie Mok proved to be the better golfers to attend the Asia Pacific Junior Amateur Championship coming up in August, in Taiwan.
Vagi James and Nathalie Mok who are junior members of RPGC qualified for the Championship after performing well in several Golf tournaments sanctioned by the PNG Golf Association. This was announced recently by the PNG Golf Association President, Stan Walker.
Walker, as the President of PNG Golf Association says the junior representatives will face 12 other countries including the host, Taiwan.
He said the two golfers have been remarkable, Nathalie Mok was the runner up in the Hagen Open and Vagi James proved qualified as he was one of the top contestants in the East New Britain and Madang Open recently.
The two will be chaperoned to Taiwan by Junior Golf Coordinator, Roz Taufa.
Taufa, says, both are first timers to compete at that level and it will be a great challenge, as they take on other well versed competition.
The Asia Pacific Junior Golf Championship tees off on August 23, and continues for the next three days.
