PORT MORESBY, July 14 – Officials at netball are overjoyed with the operations so far at the PNG Power Dome after competition got underway on Monday.

Tournament official Mono Lisa-Leka (PNG) said that day one unfolded successfully with all the visiting teams thrilled about the new facilities at the venue.

“The teams have been blown away by our facilities, not only here at the Sir John Guise Stadium but also at our home at Rita Flynn courts because we’ve been using that as our training venue since the first Pacific netball team arrived and since the first of July when it was opened.”

Leka said that the first day definitely set the pace for the rest of the week.

The gold medal match will take place on Saturday.

So far, it looks like favourites Fiji, Samoa, Papua New Guinea and Cook Islands will be vying for the medals.
