Madang Governor Jim Kas has passed on his sympathies to workmates, friends and relatives of the late Dr Nancy Sullivan.
Dr Sullivan passed away in a car accident in the United States last weekend.
She worked as an anthropologist in Madang for over a decade, providing critical views to the developmen’s of the province.
Her contribution to PNG in the anthropology and education sectors gave her recognition throughout the country.
Sullivan was an outspoken critic of the development of the Pacific Marine Industrial Zone (PMIZ) in Madang, and carried out research extensively in the province.
“On behalf of the civil society organisations in Madang, international and local NGOs where Dr Nancy Sullivan worked, I would like to pass my sympathy to them.
“The sympathy of the Madang people is with her family,” Kas said.
