Dubai’s Butterfly Garden is home to the largest indoor collection of butterflies in the world. The garden covers a total area of 4,500 square meters in which 2, 000 of this is devoted to butterfly domes. Located next to another attraction – the Miracle Garden, which holds a wide variety of flower species displayed in stunning patterns and colour arrangements.

Opened on March 24 2015, this butterfly museum hosts about 26 different kinds of butterflies from various countries around the world. It also caters for about 120 species of flowers.

The giant domes are designed specifically to suit the butterflies, providing the right amount of temperature and environment; built in a way to be climate-controlled, so that the domes can be open all year round.

Each dome is decorated with flower displays and a wide range of butterflies in different colours, shapes and species. Check out video here.

The park is also the home to the first butterfly insects’ museum in the world.

Before the opening of the garden, Engineer, Abdul Nasser Rahhal, said: “The butterflies will be of different colours, shapes and sizes and will fly over a range of flowers and plants and around visitors, visitors may witness the actual butterfly life cycle and gain insight into their miraculous metamorphosis. It is an experience that will enable visitors to recognise and appreciate the butterfly in all its growth stages.”
