Christians Move 400 Year Old KJV Bible To Parliament

By Jack Lapauve Jr – EM TV News, Port Moresby

On the dawn of PNG’s 40th Independence Anniversary, the much debated 400 year old King James Bible was escorted to the House of Parliament.

Hundreds of Christians sang praise to the parliament to handover the bible to Prime Minister Peter O’Neill and Speaker of Parliament Theo Zurenuoc.

The bible was carried in an ark shaped hut by the Motu-Koitabu Youth Ministry before the Churches Council of PNG handed over the Bible to the PNG Prime Minister.

The parliament gate was jammed as hundreds rushed-in to witness the handover.

Christians say, the bible will be a light to the House to guide leaders in all decision making and put PNG forward for the next 40 years.

Christian leaders say it’s about time Papua New Guinea let God be at the front for all discussions and development agendas of the country.

Most say the move comes timely as Papua New Guinea celebrates 40 years of Independence.
