Caritas Students Eye Gold

by Godwin Eki – EM TV Sports, Port Moresby

Three students from grades 9 and 11 will be taking part in the 2015 Pacific Games for the first time, representing their school, family and the country. These students are from the Caritas Secondary School in Port Moresby.

Gaining much needed skills and support from their international Korean masters, through training programs and lessons at school, Rosemary Tona, Doris David Doria and Rayheb Loi are already eyeing gold, with their minds set on the games.

They say, taking part for the first time in an internationally recognised event is a blessing, and a dream come true.

Director for Caritas Secondary School, Sister Florentina, can only say she is proud to know that her students will not only lift the name of the country, but theirs as well.

They all said one thing; representing their country and making their family proud will mean a lot to them. The three girls will all be fighting is their respective categories and are all ready.

The trio have strong support from their taekwondo masters, school and their families as they go through their training programs in preparations for the pacific games.

Sister Florentina is proud of the three girls and she says the school will be with them, all the way through.

The main focus for the girls now is training, as they prepare for one of the biggest games that they will be part of, for the first time, and something they will talk about in years to come.
