Lae’s Metropolitan Police Superintendent, Anthony Wagambie Jnr, said Police are helping the residents of the Boundary Road settlement in their search for 19-year-old Elton Agebigo, who went missing last Wednesday.
The family, along with the settlement community, made a public call for Lae Police and authorities to help them find Elton.
The family fears he might have been kidnapped or killed, with the circumstances surrounding his disappearance are suspicious.
Parents, Timothy and Wendy Agebigo, have seen the Lae Police Boss, Anthony Wagambie Jnr, who has given his word that police will help find Elton.
“We haven’t found the missing person at boundary road, the community is still looking.
“Police are assisting by working into the area to try and locate him,” said Wagambie Jnr.
Elton disappeared under suspicious circumstances during a picnic on the mountain behind Boundary Road.
Three friends came back saying they were separated after gunshots were heard.
The family says Elton may have been kidnapped or killed, and want him back whether he is alive or dead.
Tension is still high as the community was clashing with a nearby settlement.
The family is hopeful that police investigations will give a more accurate account of why Elton has yet to return home.
