The people of Tatana Village in Port Moresby are being urged to work together to take part in business activities.
Member for Moresby Northwest Michael made this call today during the opening of the Tatana Araira Development Association Inc.
Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill, was also present to officially open the new office building and committed K250,000 for the running of TADA.
Tatana village has a population of 6,543 people.
Like other Motu Koita villages, it has benefited very little from developments happening in its areas.
The recent relocation of the port facilities to Motukea has promoted the people to form an association part take in spin off businesses.
Tatana Araira Development Association, or TADA, will be the official body that will be in the forefront of Tatana’s development aspirations.
Chairman Opao Udia wants the government to involve Tada in its development plans.
Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill was present to officially open TADA’s office building.
He says, it is the government’s desire to be partners with original landowners.
He called on TADA executives to prudently manage the affairs of Tada to contribute to the welfare of its people in Tatana.
