Late Goilala MP’s Body Arrives From Philippines

by Stanley Ove Jr – EM TV, Port Moresby

As early as 4 o’clock this morning, hundreds gathered at the Jackson’s International Airport to receive the body of the late Goilala MP, Daniel Mona.

The casket arrived three hours later. Accompanying the body were the family of the late MP including his children.

His term in parliament has seen the member actively delivering much-needed services to his people, just like his father Loui Mona who was the first MP for Goilala.

He was active in last year’s roll-out of the tuition fee free education policy in Central Province which was launched at Tapini in Goilala, Central Province.

After falling ill late last year, he was taken to the Philippines for medical treatment; unfortunately he passed away earlier this month in a hospital in Manila.

His funeral service will be held this week.
