New Classroom for Tabubil Secondary School

Tabubil Secondary School inthe Western Province now has a double classroom and it comes complete with tables and chairs.

The construction ofthe double classroom began in 2012 underthe management of OTML’sInfrastructure and Support Services department.

This was part of a seven million kina funding from OTML anPNGSDP who made equal contributions to build classrooms and upgradethe school’s computer laboratory and canteen.

Chairman ofthPNGSDP and OTML Beards, Sir Mekere Morauta acknowledgedthe importance of education in Western province and said investment made in this sector is worth investing.

He assuredthe students’ parents and citizens thaPNGSDP and OTML will continue to invest in education and health.

OTML anPNGSDP assistedthe school afterthe National Education Department upgraded its status from that of a high school to a secondary level.

The new classrooms will accommodate seventy eight grade eleven students’who will formthe pioneer class of 2013.

Speaking on behalf of OTML, Managing Director Nigel Parker thankedthe education department for recognisingthe need to have anther Secondary School inthe province and said OTML was ready to bring togther resources to fulfill this need.

A Memorandum of Agreement was also signed betweenthe National Department of Education,the Provincial Department of Education andthe governing council of Tabubil Secondary School on that day.
