Minister Want PNG’s Tag to Change

PNG’s tag of beingthe &lsquoLand:fthe Unexpected’ should be done away with, and changed tothe &lsquoLand:f Advantage’.

 

Minister for Public Enterprises and StateInvestment Ben Micah said this atthe final day ofthPNG Advantage 2013InternationalInvestment Summitoheld atthe Gateway Hotel in Port Moresby.

The Summit’showcased specific areas of opportunity where international and domestic businesses could contribute tothe development oPNG.

 

Minister Micah when delivering his address yesterday encouraged private investors to partner State-owned enterprises to ensure wider and effective service delivery in PNG  

 

“The word is partnership. I believe that ifthere is a partnership based on trust and long term commitmentowe can be able to transform this country,” said Micah.
 

The Minister also highlighted that a Document has been prepared, which encourages a level playing field for Public Private Partnerships.

“My policy document will now begin to define a new partnership that I believe will enable us to go beyondthe current regimes that we now enjoy inthe resource sector,” Micah said.
 

Minister Micah said inthe meantimethe Document has to be approverd by Parliament before it can be distributed tothe business community and ther stakeholders.
