Under 16 Girls Soccer: FIFA Visitors

Today was special for Under 16 girls whenthey received a visit fromthe members of FIFA.  

PNG Football Association withInternational Federation of Football Association has provided a platform to develop young female players who like to play soccer.

 

This is throughthe Centre of excellence program. The main focus is to develop young players to live healthy lifestyles intheir schools and community.

 

FIFA andthe Oceania Football Confederation througPNGFA have been pilotingthe program to develop potential talents withthe ability and skills to be football players. 

 

Girls between 13 to 16 years of age meet atthe Sir John Guise Stadium on Mondays and Wednesdays after school withtheir coaches for soccer practice.

 

More than 20 schools in NCD are participating inthe program.

 

Today was extra special as FIFA TV was on site to documentthe competition.

 

This will promote women’s football inthe country.

 

The girls were given bibs to wear duringthe game, however, uniforms will soon be provided bythPNG Football Association.
