School Children Learns Road Safety Rules

Withthe increase of vehicles inthe Nation’s Capital, school children are becoming more vulnerable to road crossings.

The National Road Safety Council is making it a priority to educate school children on road safety rules and also providethem with equipment.

A preliminary survey fromthe Road Safety Council has shown that almost 90 per cent of drivers inthe city do not know many ofthe traffic sign.

As a result,the road accident database has shown that a lot of school children betweenthe ages of 14 to 24 were being killed at school crossing.

Mr. Terema also appealed to teachers and board members to appoint someone to monitor children when crossingthe roads at peak hours.

He said that some drivers receive license illegally and are inexperience so children’should be careful although it is a crossing.
