A 38 membePNG Athletics team has been named for the Mini Pacific Games in Wallis and Futuna fromthe 3rd tothe 6th of September.
A final team of 22 male and 16 female athletes have been selected. This will bethe largest Athletic team ever to attendthe games.
Sprint Queen Toea Wisil will jointhe team for the medal hunt. Currently based in Beisbane, she will be competing inthe 100m, 200m, 400m and 200 and 400 meter relays.
The team blended with experienced and youth is being developed for the 2015 Pacific Games. 22 athletes competed atthe 2011 Games in Noumea including Nelson Stone, Betty Berua and Mowen Beini who will be also taking part.
Male Athletes including Paul Pokana, Wala Gime, and Sapolai Yao all currently undergoing studies inthe United State of America will jointhe team intheir respective events.
Apart from established elite athletesthere are four female and five male athletes selected to represenPNG for the first time.
