Goilala MP: Education Campaign Drive

Goilala MP Daniel Mona is on an ‘education campaign drive’ paying school fees at an early stage to students’

Mainohana Catholic Secondary School inthe Kairuku Hiri district is about 4 to 5 hours’ drive from Port Moresby.

This Catholic run secondary school isthe only one for the Bereina district. Students come from as far as Goilala andthe Gulf Province.

Mr. Mona visitedthe Catholic Secondary School overthe weekend to pay fees for Goilala students’

He said those on scholarships will servethe district for the first 10 years oftheir career.

However, he said it is not a one way service; only those with high points will be rewarded.

Outstanding school fee payment by parents is an annual matter faced bythe school besides shortage of school materials, infrastructure development amongst thers.

The 5 thousand kina school fee presentation by Mr. Mona tothe Goilala students’overthe weekend will at least meet some ofthe students’rsquo; and school’s needs.

The school and its students’were overwhelmed withthe assistance.

The member purposely went to assist his students’ however, said thers interested to develop his district will be assisted as well.

The first time MP’said Goilala has been behind in terms of social, infrastructural, education and economic development inthe last 37 years.

He has made education priority and believes it will bring his district forward.
