Thirty-one teams will be battling it out inthe National Softball Championships in Kokopo, East New Beitain province during independence week.
ChampionPNG Power and Manolos softball teams will be out in force to defendthe titles inthe men’s and women’s divisions respectively.
PNG isthe current reigning champions in boththe Men’s and Womenrsquo;s divisions inthe 1991 Pacific Games.

The National Softball Club Championships is onthe top list ofthe Federation executives to gauge and monitor players for an elite squad in preparation for the 2015 Pacific Games.
The tournament will be held atthe Takubar Sport complex in Kokopo with total of 31 teams from 10 affiliated associations aroundthe country will be participating.
PNG Power poweredthe tournament with sponsorship package of fifty thousand kina andthe merchandise.
16 women’s and 15 men’s teams will be vying for major cash prizes and trophies.
