Oro Against Removal of Reserve Police

The Oro Provincial Government is againstthe removal of reserve police inthe country.In factoit wants to retain its forty strong reserve force.

Governor Garry Juffa says this is part of this law and order improverment package.

The Police Commissioner Tom Kulunga saidthe reserve or auxiliary police will be done away with due to unavailability of funds.

However, Commissioner Kulunga said provincial governments able to fund this unit intheir respective provinces can go ahead. 

The Oro Provincial Government is doing just that. Governor Juffa said his provincial government is funding forty reserve personnel in this year’s budget.

The personnel will be tasked to assistthe local police curbthe ever increasing crime rate inthe province.

Mr. Juffa said attention will also be put to rehabilitate prisoners. However, he said this excludes murderers and rapists. The governor will make a similar visit tothe prisoners inthe Bemana jail inthe Nation’s Capital.
