Road Upgrade affects Buai sellers

The upgrading and ceiling ofthe Erima 9-mile road inthe National Capital has forcedthe removal of Beainatuna market.

The market has been providing 24 hour service for the travelling public for the past several years.

 

Frustrated betelnut sellers said authorities concerned including NCD Governor and Moresby North-East member Labi Amaiu failed to advisethem onthe removal oftheir markets.

 

 

They called upon relevant authorities to relocatethe market to somewhere reasonable asthe market is situated on state land.

 

NCDC has confirmed that after completion ofthe 4-Lane Road, buai sellers willthen be accommodated if space permits.
