Simbu Tops Expenditure

Simbu Province has been ranked on top ofthe latest Provincial Expenditure Review.

This was revealed bythe National Economic & Fiscal Commission Chairman andthe CEO Hohora Suve.

Simbu has maintained a consistent performance, togther with Central, Manus, Sandaun, and Milne Bey provinces.

The 2011 Provincial Expenditure Review titled ‘Taking Stock’ revealed that Simbuscored an average of 113 points.

The review shows Simbu overthe last two years consistently and adequately spent on service delivery activities in line withthe eleven minimum priority activities.

They include health, education, transport infrastructure maintenance, primary production and village courts.

Mr Suve saysthere’s demand for update date on government budget spending critical for planning and monitoring purposes.

Minimum Priority Activities are government’service delivery activities assisting to meet operational cost at district and rural level.

It’s funded underthe National Recurrent budget of provincial goods and services, monitored bythe treasury departments andthe national Economical Fiscal Commission.
