Mt Ipsilantis Awarded for 100th Voyage without Incident

Safety is of paramount importance when it comes to transporting and distributing fuel.

 

And, MT Ipsilantis, an oil tanker that’s been distributingInterOil’s fuel from Napa Napa Refinery to its terminals acrossthe country since 2009, celebrated its 100th voyage without incident yesterday.

 

“The onus is upon us charteringthe vessel fromthe owners orthe managers. They have puttheir trust to us that we will look aftertheir ship when it’s here. So in return we have to gainthe trust fromthe owners that we’ll ensurethe ports are safe and meetInternational Maritime Regulations,” Laufa Lavai,InterOil’s Shipping Ops Manager
 

The ship’s Russian master managed to thankInterOil for its recognition andthe partnershipthey’ve had overthe years.

 

The ship crews are all Russians with only four Papua New Guineas hired recently to join as deck crew.
